Upgrading the bonded warehouse system in the southern region

The bonded warehouse system has been upgraded in both floor area and management technology to meet rising storage demand.

GLS has completed an upgrade of its bonded warehouse system in the southern region, significantly increasing storage area and modernising management technology. The project meets the growing demand for storage, consolidation and distribution among import-export customers.

Expanded area, upgraded technology

The warehouse system has been expanded with standard storage areas and a bonded warehouse for cargo awaiting clearance. Everything is equipped with compliant fire protection systems, optimised racking and a warehouse management system (WMS) that tracks cargo in real time.

The warehouses' proximity to ports and key transport routes shortens the first- and last-mile legs, reducing cost and delivery time. Customers can combine warehousing with barge transport and forwarding within the same closed-loop GLS chain.

Flexible consolidation and deconsolidation services allow businesses to optimise inventory levels and delivery frequency, especially suited to multi-point distribution and e-commerce models.

Upgrading the bonded warehouse is part of GLS's strategy to complete its logistics infrastructure, toward providing integrated end-to-end logistics solutions for customers in the south and nationwide.
